Overview

The frame-mounted safety chuck is fitted on the outer face of the machine frame and connects the air shaft to the machine. Mounting on the face of the frame can give more flexibility, particularly when retrofitting existing machines or where there is not enough space inside the frame. It is available in slide-mounted and flange-mounted versions.

As with all our safety chucks, safety comes first: even if the operator forgets to lock it, the chuck locks itself on the first turn. The outer surfaces are induction-hardened against impact, and the parts are protected with chrome and special coatings. Technical values, including load capacity, are listed in the table below.

Features

  • Mounted on the outer face of the frame
  • Slide-mounted and flange-mounted options
  • Safety design that locks itself on the first turn
  • Induction-hardened, impact-resistant outer surfaces
  • Surface protection with chrome and special coatings
  • Spare parts available; quick, easy fitting by our technicians

Applications

The frame-mounted safety chuck is used with air shafts on winders and unwinders in packaging, printing, paper and plastic film lines. It suits machines where heavy rolls are changed often and a secure shaft connection is critical. Where mounting on the inner side of the frame is needed, see our inside-frame safety chuck.

Requesting a quotation

To prepare a chuck that fits your machine, we need:

  • A dimensioned drawing of the shaft end
  • The combined weight of roll and shaft
  • Mounting preference (slide or flange) and a dimensioned drawing of the frame face
  • Whether there will be a drive or brake connection
  • Line speed and torque to be transmitted
  • Quantity required

You can send your request through our contact page.
