When a web material is unwound and rewound, its tension has to be kept under control. The products in this group address this need by adjusting the torque applied to the roll.
Products in this group
- Brakes: pneumatic, caliper and magnetic particle brakes apply a braking torque to the roll on the unwind side, which creates web tension.
- Clutch system: engages and disengages the power transmission between the drive and the shaft.
- Tension controller: using feedback from a load cell or a dancer roller, it controls the brake or motor so that the material stays at the same tension at every roll diameter.
